WharnEDC© – Melissa Miller x T.Kell Knives
The T.Kell x MelissaBackwoods WharnEDC is a very special knife design to me. Choosing the right company to do my first knife design with was just as important as the design itself. T.Kell Knives is 100% made in the USA, and is one of the first companies to really believe in me and support me as a content creator. Tim Kell has an impeccable eye for designs that are functional but also look damn good.
I started reviewing knives in 2016 - my area of focus being in wilderness survival and Bushcraft fixed Blades, so doing a fixed blade as my first knife design is what felt natural and right - a nod to my past.
In more recent years I have grown interest in the EDC and practicality components of a knife. EDC fixies have become my preference due to their low maintenance, ease of deployment, and structural reliability. A Blade profile that I had once overlooked - the wharncliffe - has recently become a favorite shape due to its ease of sharpening and effectiveness in precise cutting tasks. Thus, the idea to create a knife that combined elements of my past, present, and future was born.
"Tim helped me execute my vision perfectly; a compact fixed blade with a wharncliffe blade shape that, in my opinion, looked dare I say, very badass."
The knife handle is modular and comes with three different options in the completed package. My favorite look and feel is the finger ring handle. A finger ring on an EDC knife? Yep, you heard that right!
My preferred method of carrying an EDC Blade is in the pocket so adding an UltiClip to the sheath will be an option on the website. I also love carrying fixed blades appendix style - and the WharnEDC will come standard with a belt clip that can be mounted easily this way.
I’m so excited about this knife design and can’t wait for the public to get their hands on it. These will be live on May 29th!
