DESCRIPTION & SPECS

The Guardian

A T.Kell twist on the Wharncliffe blade with some Reverse Tanto thrown in. The Wharncliffe is often thought of as a go-to CQB blade with the Reverse Tanto being a close second. So why not make the ultimate CQB blade by combining the two and putting them on our famed Raider handle platform! The Guardian has a dead flat typical edge, We added reverse tanto style reverse edges and this thing turned out to be nothing but nasty. Keeping with the CQB blade theme it has a very steep 30 degree grind allowing the Guardian creates deep and wide cuts while maintaining a blade thickness to withstand it all. Made from high carbon steel heat treated to 57 HRC using our detailed heat treatment process. Made from .165 thick steel there's nothing you can throw at the Guardian that it cant handle. Made on our famous EDC handle platform it disappears along your belt line and has a secure grip that locks you to the knife in forward or reverse grip. Plated in the most durable blade coating on earth, our exclusive Nickle Boron T1C finish to provide a nearly indestructible blade coating that is so low in friction it flies thru cuts while completely protecting your blade from corrosion. The guardian is built for the same battle tough environments that all T.Kell blades have become known for. Perfected balance points, comfort of grip and EDC concealability make the Guardian a perfect backup or primary CQB item. You can count on the Guardian and you can count on T.Kell Knives to build you a blade that is unequalled in quality, durability, hand feel, and function. When your hand meets a T.Kell knife you'll instantly understand why we have become known for our blades that are so comfortable and balanced that they move with you.

DESIGN

Hybrid Wharncliffe-Reverse Tanto Design

The Guardian is a T.Kell twist on the classic Wharncliffe blade, enhanced with strategic Reverse Tanto influence to create the ultimate CQB tool. Since both blade styles are revered for close-quarters capability, combining them on our famed Raider handle platform was a natural step forward. The Guardian features a dead-flat primary edge paired with aggressive reverse-tanto style secondary edges, resulting in a blade that is unapologetically mean and purpose-built.

Extreme Cutting Performance and Battle-Ready Strength

Designed for maximum CQB performance, the Guardian uses a steep 30-degree grind that delivers deep, wide cuts while retaining enough thickness to take serious abuse. Crafted from high carbon steel and heat-treated to 57 HRC using our meticulous in-house process, this .165-thick blade is built to withstand anything you throw at it. Finished with our exclusive Nickel Boron T1C coating—the most durable blade coating on earth—it offers ultra-low friction slicing and full corrosion protection.

Proven EDC Ergonomics and Unmatched Control

Built on our proven EDC handle platform, the Guardian disappears along the belt line yet locks securely into your hand in both forward and reverse grips. With perfected balance points, unmatched comfort, and T.Kell’s trademark hand-feel, this blade becomes an extension of your movement. Whether as a primary tool or a backup CQB companion, the Guardian is engineered for the same battle-tough environments that define every T.Kell blade.

Wow…. Just Buy It!

"Not my 1st TKell knife, ( up to 5 now) but this might be my favorite. It is just flat out nasty with the 3 edges. Love the Apache color grip. The edge is perhaps unconventional. I’ve read some people questioning the sharpness. Let me confirm, this thing is SHARP. Perhaps more like the corner of a piece of heavy gauge sheet metal. The edge drags and rips its way through (in a good way!) I cut a piece of raw meat with it. It looked more like a axe cut than a knife. Used in a self defense situation this would be devastating. The attention to detail and functionality exceeds the price tag. I’ve looked at other high end custom knives, (many more $$$) and none are as nice as the offerings from TKell. FYI - Guardian has 3 edges. Guardian 2. 0 has 1 edge. Customer service helped me out with this and ensured I got what I was looking for. Thank you!"

Boss Level!

"Another Epic and Absolute Beaut!!! The look of this blade is so menacing and straight business. The weight and triple edge back up the devious and intimidating look. Can’t stop smiling when I leave the house and the Gaurdian is riding tight to the body IWB"

My favorite Tkell

"This is the perfect knife to carry for self defense if you’re looking to cause maximum damage in one shot. I feel 100% safe when carrying the guardian and it pacts a punch."

Not a spectacular finish

"I previously purchased the warthog hog and everything was absolutely perfect! The guardian. . . not so much the blade is extremely dull and the black micarta scales are terrible looking they are dull and we're not smoothed out"

My ""best"" EDC. . .

"First time I saw the Guardian, it was on the Knife junkie podcast over a year ago and, it ""immediately"" got my attention! Then after seeing TKell's video on it, it became a MUST HAVE! NOT dissapointed, exceeded ""all"" expectations and set such a high bar for that style of knife that, it's pretty much ruined any other knife of similar class that I used to want!!! This knife is my true EDC. It's on me everyday. It's a martial blade that has my complete confidence. . . Thank you TKell knives 💙."

Guardian in Battleship Grey

"Beautiful knife and fits very well in the hand. My hand size is between Large and Extra Large, I was a little worried the handle might be a bit short. With the design of the handle, the hilt fits right in the crevice of my pinky and is very comfortable. I am very happy with the purchase and it was well worth the wait. Thank you for producing such quality and well designed knives."

Gapping wound track

"I believe it's 30 degree angle grind on a thick perfectly heat treated 3edged blade. Aww yeah and it's made by Tim Kell soo enough said. Completely beautiful blade and feels great in the hand. There's really not one like yet soo go get one. If you bought a few tkell knives already then I don't know why your even reading the review, if you have the money buy it while you can."

"……I bought the Nighthawk a year ago and it was sweet. But , this Guardian has some more weight to it and is just WICKED!!! I also bought the sentry grip to put onto it , cause the Night Guardian wasn’t available at the time to purchase……. but after holding it in my hand. . it doesn’t need it!!! What an amazing piece of work. Thanks TKell for your creation!!!"
